Due to prolonged humidity and inadequate ventilation, the bathroom is often the most susceptible to dirt and grime in a home. Have you ever encountered mold on tiles and shower curtains, bacteria on towels, toothbrushes, and razors, or water stains on mirrors and faucets? Does it leave you frustrated?
In reality, bathroom cleaning is not as complicated as it seems!
After chatting with cleaning professionals for half an hour, we learned these 9 cleaning hacks that will have your bathroom looking as good as new in just a few minutes.
1. How to Clean a Shower Head
A common issue with shower heads is the accumulation of limescale on both the surface and interior. This can be easily removed using vinegar.
① Mix water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio and place it in a plastic bag.
② Detach the shower head and immerse it in the sealed plastic bag.
③ After letting it sit for half an hour, remove the shower head, rinse it with hot water, and witness its immediate shine.
2. How to Polish Faucets
① Apply shaving cream to the faucet.
② Wipe it off with a cloth.
③ Rinse thoroughly to finish.
3. How to Clean Bathroom Tiles
Cleaning moldy bathroom tiles is much simpler than you might think.
① Mix water and vinegar or bleach powder in a 1:1 ratio and store it in a spray bottle. Shake well to fully combine.
② Spray the liquid onto the tiles, focusing more on areas with mold.
③ This is crucial! After spraying, let the tiles air dry naturally.
④ Finally, thoroughly rinse the tiles with water.
⑤ As for those stubborn black spots, it’s time for an upgraded cleaning method: mix baking soda and water into a paste, then use an old toothbrush to scrub off the black spots with force.
4. How to Clean a Toilet
Enter the stage: effervescent cleaning tablets.
① Drop two effervescent tablets into the toilet and let them fizz for 15 minutes.
② Scrub the toilet thoroughly with a toilet brush, and then rinse with water.
5. How to Clean a Toothbrush Holder
If the toothbrush holder is not made of wood or metal, you can use a dishwasher for cleaning.
① Place the toothbrush holder on the top rack of the dishwasher, set it for a normal cycle, and let the machine do the work.
② The soap dish can also be cleaned following the same steps.
6. How to Clean a Mirror
The steps for cleaning a bathroom mirror are similar to those for cleaning a faucet, continuing to utilize the magical tool, “shaving cream.”
① Apply shaving cream to the bathroom mirror using a tissue.
② Then, use a damp tissue to spread the foam evenly across the entire mirror.
③ Finally, rinse with water. This way, your bathroom mirror will stay bright, fresh, and clean for up to a week!
Remember! Never attempt to wipe off mold on the shower curtain with tissues or a cloth, as it won’t eliminate it completely.
① Throw the shower curtain into the washing machine and add neutral detergent or half a cup of baking soda.
② Here’s a trick! Place some towels or bed sheets in the washing machine along with the shower curtain. This not only helps to remove mold more effectively but also protects the curtain from getting damaged during the wash.
③ Hang the shower curtain to air dry naturally, bidding farewell to mold.
8. How to Unclog a Blocked Drain
① Drop one or two effervescent tablets, such as antacid tablets, vitamin tablets, or baking soda, into the drain.
② Pour a cup of vinegar into the drain.
③ After a few minutes, flush it with hot water.
9. How to Clean Toothbrushes, Towels, and Razors
① Toothbrushes: Add a spoonful of salt to hot water, soak for 10 minutes, do this weekly, and it’s best to replace them every three months.
② Towels: Clean using the same method and frequency. If towels become sticky, soak them in hot water with white vinegar for 10 minutes.
③ Razors: Clean the razor with a small brush and then disinfect it with 75% alcohol.
